The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook – Edmund J. Bourne

Book review

Practical advice for common ADHD issues

This book by Edmund Bourne is quite specific and practical. It has chapters on nutrition, exercise, visualization, cognitive therapy, mistaken beliefs, emotional needs, spiritual angst, and medication. A diagnostic questionnaire in the first chapter helps you to determine which chapters will help you the most. It is interactive with checklists and simple prompts such as “check all that apply”, True-False, “rate from 1-5” etc, which is easy to do even if you are a little resistant! Every chapter ends with a check-list of homework.

Many books on depression and anxiety focus on knowledge and less on inspiring on change. But knowledge and insight are  seldom enough and helpfully this workbook lets you assume responsibility for your own recovery and gives effective and simple tools to do it. Definitely a good place to start for anyone with anxiety difficulties of any kind.
